I created The Grape Escape for those who appreciate great wine, exceptional food, and the joy of socializing. It offers a unique, welcoming space to explore and enjoy wine—whether you’re just starting out or looking to deepen your knowledge.
I was born in Romania and raised/educated in New York City, where I spent more than 25 years in demanding corporate environments. About 15 years ago, my family and I moved to Connecticut, while I continued my career in the city. Over time, what began as a personal interest evolved into a true passion—and ultimately, a calling.
For me, wine is more than something you drink—it’s an experience rooted in history, geography, travel, and craftsmanship. Each bottle tells a story, and at its best, wine brings people together around one of life’s greatest pleasures: food.
Now based in Fairfield, CT, I have embraced the local culture of dining, entertaining, and community. My love for travel and gastronomy continues to shape my perspective—blending my European roots with New York energy and Connecticut charm.
What makes my approach unique is that my journey into wine began later in life. I understand firsthand how intimidating wine can seem at first. That’s why my philosophy is simple: make wine education approachable, engaging, and enjoyable. My goal is to help people not only taste wine—but understand it, appreciate it, and confidently enjoy it.

Guided by the credo “what grows together, goes together,” each class is thoughtfully designed to showcase food and wine as natural companions—not as separate experiences. Together, we’ll discover how place, tradition, flavor, and pairing come together in the glass and on the plate.

Our classes are held once a month at our home on Elm St. in Fairfield, with each month dedicated to a new and exciting wine experience. From discovering different regions and varietals to learning the art of tasting and pairing, every class offers something unique to explore and enjoy.

All our scheduled classes are intentionally limited to 12 guests (or less) to create a relaxed, intimate setting where everyone can participate. This smaller format allows for thoughtful conversation, personalized attention, and ample time for questions throughout the experience. It also ensures that each class feels engaging, welcoming, and highly interactive rather than formal or crowded.
